Tangential Brake

The Tangential Brake is an electrical hysteresis brake with a wide range of torque control for de-reeling yarn or strand.

Features:

• Custom designed tension system.
• Optional strand sensor system to maintain a given tension.
• Tension can be programmed via AccuRamp system to increase or decrease tension as package or warp builds.
• Minimum maintenance required.
• Lifetime sealed bearing construction.
• High profitability due to low cost maintenance and ease of operation.

Applications:

• Roving yarn preparation
• Winding
• Warping
• Calendaring processes

This type of control is used in applications of tensioning flat, no twist yarns, carbon fibers, fiberglass, flat kevlar, etc. The Tangential Brake is set at the same tension by electrical voltage from a central control. Temperature, humidity, and dust does not alter tension.
